Major Flooding Incident Boscastle & North Cornwall.

Crackington Haven
Here are the first photographs on the site to feature what happened in the coastal village of Crackington Haven which is north of Boscastle. These photographs were taken by Firefighter Rich Goulding from Holsworthy, Devon.
The crew of Holsworthy [QD101 Devon] were mobilised to the village to persons reported trapped in the beach cafe. On arrival they found all persons had been rescued by RNLI Lifeguards. A car could clearly be seen approximately 60 meters off shore. This was checked by Sea King helicopter and found to be empty. After assisting where they could in the village they left the area in the hands of the lifeguards and proceeded to Boscastle.
The village was very badly damaged by the floodwater and many vehicles were washed away.
Below in the center of the picture you can see the tyre of a car just visable to the Holsworthy firefighters.
