Major Flooding Incident Boscastle & North Cornwall.

On Monday 16 August 2004 major flooding occurred in North Cornwall. The small village of Boscastle was devastated with many buildings destroyed and numerous vehicles washed into the sea. A full report on the rescue operation will appear on the web site as soon as possible.

 The following set of dramatic photographs were taken by the first arriving crews from the retained fire station at Delabole. Thanks go to Station Officer Mark Saltern for his help in supplying them.
